Whilst line drawing evacuation plans are invaluable research shows the same information
displayed as a virtual three dimensional representation is much easily and quickly
understood.
As part of the fire safety audit, a fire evacuation plan showing adequate guidance
on the quickest way to the fire exit, the location of fire extinguishers, fire call
points, lifts, refuges and any high-risk areas will help staff to keep the fire risk
assessment under review in addition to informing visitors, contractors and the emergency
services of the fire safety precautions in place. This plan will also form part
of your Emergency Plan as required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
Our virtual '3D' fire evacuation plans can provide all of the above information
in such a way that will enable a person to easily determine their location within
a building and readily locate the emergency fire exits, emergency routes and fire-fighting
equipment.
These plans will also support the mandatory fire training for staff, alerting them
to the exit routes, progressive horizontal evacuation compartments, the location
of the fire-fighting equipment, and other relevant fire safety information. By placing
a fire evacuation plan in prominent positions within a building, you are also delivering
clear and relevant fire safety information to all building users, be they staff,
patients, visitors, agency staff or contractors. We can enliven training lectures
by providing animated (with sound track if required) virtual fly-throughs of your
building and fly-tos towards fire exits, muster points, refuges etc. These can be
incorporated into your PowerPoint presentations or your remote E-Learning syllabus.
It is your decision as to what information is shown on the plans. Suggestions are
floor colour to identify the smoke compartmentation, fire extinguishers, call points,
fire panels, assembly points, 'You are Here', evacuation routes, etc. and there is
no further charge for this information. Other details such as bio-hazard or radiation
hazard are commonly shown - the choice is yours. Our plans follow the guidance of
ISO 23601:2009, principles for displayed escape plans containing information relevant
to fire safety, escape, evacuation and rescue of the facility's occupants.
The plans are provided in A3-size, chrome effect frames behind a clear Perspex cover
for protection. All we need to produce the body of the 3-d plan is the floorplan
as a CAD .dwg file and information regarding the location of the fire extinguishers,
call points, etc.
